Description: Medium sized trees with huge broad leaves about 6 to 12 inches, panicles of 2 lipped shaped showy white flowers, in this species the throat of the flower is streaked with yellow and much dotted with purple. Seed pods are long thin beans (hence the name Cigar tree) that reach about 20 inches. When ripe they burst open to release innumerable winged seeds. The dried empty pods stay on the tree through out the winter. Mainly a yard tree.Location: Yards
